Learn About Getting Extra Help

Medicare eligible beneficiaries with limited income and resources may qualify for Extra Help to pay for their prescription drug costs. If you qualify, Medicare could help you pay for your drug costs including monthly prescription drug premiums, annual deductibles, co-payments and coinsurance. Additionally, those who qualify will not be subject to the coverage gap or a late enrollment penalty. Many people are eligible for these savings and don’t even know it. To see if you qualify for extra help you can:

Call Member Services toll-free at 1-877-577-0115 (TTY 711). From October 1 to February 14, we are open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. EST. From February 15 to September 30 we are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. EST.

Call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or TTY 1-800-325-0778 for the hearing impaired, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.

Call Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or TTY 1-877-486-2048 for the hearing impaired, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
